Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course – CRFSC
The legislation requires individuals who wish to get non-restricted firearms to take the CFSC and/or pass the tests. Individuals wishing to acquire restricted firearms must take both CFSC and CRFSC and/or pass both tests. People interested on target shooting, applying for a job in security services or border agencies will be required to acquire to take the RPAL (Restricted Possession and Acquisition License).
To get this certification, you will need about 16 hours at GT Firearms Academy as follow:
- PAL – 12 hours;
- RPAL – 4 hours.
Both certifications can be taken in 2 days:
Weekdays from 6PM to 9PM and/or
Weekends from 9AM to 5PM.

You will need to pass both tests and exams with 80% or greater in order to be able to apply for RPAL.
By completing this course, you will learn how to do the following:
- handle firearms and ammunition safely;
- use firearms and ammunition safely;
- comply with firearms laws;
- store restricted firearms and ammunition safely;
- display restricted firearms and ammunition safely;
- transport restricted firearms and ammunition safely.
